Situated at a distance between 700 – 750 km (or) 800 – 850 km from Chennai, driving from Chennai to Kanyakumari by road is an incredible experience. The following routes can help you to reach the destination as planned.
We prefer route 2, as it has more places to experience on the way to Kanyakumari and lesser tolls compared to route 1.
Kanchipuram, a city in Tamilnadu, known for its traditional old-age temples, kanchipuram silk, ancient structures and historical legendary tales of its existence. On the way to Kanyakumari, take a short break to worship the God and take home the essence of sprituality with you.
Heading via krishnagiri, a small town in Tamil Nadu with motels and wide highways connecting to Kanyakumari.ย

Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Puducherry – Cuddalore – Chidambaram – Velankanni – Ramanathapuram – Rameshwaram – Dhanushkodi – Ramanathapuram – Thoothukudi – Manapad – Kanyakumari.
En route, explore the beautiful beaches along the East Cost Road from Chennai, quick glimpse at the hidden beauty of the Deep South Sea, between Ramanathapuram and Kanyakumari.
Explore the colourful and clean French Quarter and experience the earthy vibes of nearby Auroville at Puducherry.
Visit the famous Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Health at Velankanni, adding religious significance to the trip.ย
Cross the oldest and the spectacular Pambhan Bridge, the longest sea bridge in India, heading towards Dhanushkodi also road to the way to explore the boundaries of India & Tamil Nadu, making way to see the Sri Lankan Border.
Extending eastward from the narrow island, Rameshwaram, a breathtaking way, where you will find yourself on a stretch of ย road with the sea on either side.
